Launching over 20 websites worldwide

Client Requirements.

Kumon’s objective was to enhance their existing digital platform to enable seamless use across multiple global locations.

This required extensive error fixes and system optimisation to ensure the platform could support large-scale international rollouts. Additionally, the project involved migrating significant volumes of data from their existing regional websites into the new centralised system.

These improvements aimed to create a unified, reliable experience for users worldwide, aligning with Kumon’s vision for consistent service delivery across all markets.

Our Solution.

To meet Kumon’s requirements, we allocated a full-time, dedicated team to ensure we met the demanding timelines for each country’s launch.

This team focused on stabilising the system and enhancing functionality, providing continuous support to address urgent issues as they arose. We implemented a structured project planning tool to manage and track the extensive list of bugs and system fixes, enabling us to prioritise and resolve critical issues swiftly.

This organised approach allowed for close monitoring of project progress, ensured transparent communication with Kumon, and maintained strict adherence to the scheduled launch dates for each region.

Preparing and Optimising for global roll-out.

In preparation for Kumon’s global rollout, it was crucial to scale and optimise the platform to handle the complexity and volume of a multi-regional operation. This included configuring the system to manage hundreds of learning centres and thousands of appointments across various time zones while ensuring smooth performance, reliability, and adaptability within the CMS.

To meet these needs, we implemented several key optimisation strategies:

Scalable Infrastructure Setup
We restructured the platform’s infrastructure to support scalability, enabling it to accommodate high volumes of traffic from multiple countries. This required robust server architecture capable of dynamically handling spikes in user activity, especially around peak appointment times. Additionally, we introduced load balancing and caching mechanisms to distribute workloads evenly and reduce server strain, ensuring fast load times and a seamless user experience even under heavy usage.

Content Management System (CMS) Improvements
The CMS needed to be robust and user-friendly to support staff across different regions in managing large quantities of content and user data. We streamlined the CMS interface to simplify content creation and management processes, reducing the time and effort required for staff training. Specific workflows were established to allow efficient localisation and adaptation of content for each region, ensuring that the system could meet diverse market needs without sacrificing functionality or consistency.

Through these targeted preparations and optimisations, we successfully transformed the system into a powerful, resilient platform ready to support Kumon’s centres worldwide. This approach ensured the CMS could manage the complex requirements of a global rollout, providing Kumon with a solid foundation for ongoing expansion and a seamless experience for both administrators and users across diverse locations.
