1838 Wallcoverings were facing a number of issues with their website, which were negatively impacting their conversion rates and sales. Some of these issues included
Due to these issues, our team were tasked with putting together a solution which would drive the performance of the Ecommerce website forward with the aim being a future proof website with all of the fundamentals in place to increase conversion rates.
The solution to this project had to be a mix between the best possible functionality and the most cost effective way to achieve this. The previous website was built on WordPress with WooCommerce and we felt it was sensible to keep the foundations of the website in place.
The approach we took was to rebuild the theme of the Woocommerce website to keep the backend structure in place. This ensured all of the working cogs of the website were left untouched but the front-end of the website was developed in a way to fix the issues such as slow load speeds and high server usage.
As we decided to rebuild the theme, our design team were able to really improve areas of the website which were causing issues from a user experience point of view. This included improving the way in which products were present on categories and how elements scaled on different devices.
Along with the rebuild, we ensured all plugins were up to date for optimal security. We also ensured that no data was lost during this process, such as customer data, order data and product data.
The result of this redevelopment was a new, robust and fast website, to drive the Ecommerce website forward.
