E-commerce’s role in developing countries

The World Trade Organization has recently stated how e-commerce can play a vital role in establishing growth and living standards in developing countries.

Business obstacles that face developing countries include the high cost of digital infrastructure, underdeveloped financial systems and lack of compliance with both legal and fiscal requirements of foreign e-markets.

This was stressed at a workshop organised by the Mexican, Indonesian, South Korean, Turkish and Australian governments, in which World Trade Organization Director-General Roberto Azevedo explained that in developing countries, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) cannot get around these obstacles.

E-commerce would provide support to small suppliers, allowing them to market their products in a time-effective manner, whilst offering competitive prices and good customer support. In turn, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises that are in the digital environment will gain confidence from consumers.

Here at VisionSharp, we’re an integrated digital agency that can create high-end, search engine friendly e-commerce websites, which help your business reach its full potential.

We build every e-commerce site with functionality in mind to ensure your website is always working as well as it should be. There’s no point spending all our time crafting a beautifully designed website, if, in the end, the functionality isn’t there. Usability is key with e-commerce sites.

We have dedicated web developers and designers that work in tandem to ensure that the design and functionality is matched on all levels.

If you’re looking for e-commerce development in Manchester, contact us here at VisionSharp to discuss your requirements – we’d be more than happy to make your website a reality.
